What this is not

Second on this page on purpose. Everything below is a real limitation today, not a complaint about the roadmap.

It is not a hosted service

Nobody is running your site for you. There is no company behind it with a support desk, no status page, and nobody on call. When your host has an outage, that is between you and your host.

What you get in exchange: nobody can raise your rent, change the terms, or take your site offline because a card expired.

There is nobody to phone

Questions go to GitHub issues, and you can open one from inside your own admin without visiting GitHub — Help & feedback. It checks first whether somebody already reported it, and whether it is already fixed in a newer version.

Expect an answer from one person, in their own time.

It does not sell things

No shop, no bookings, no memberships, no paid-subscriber area, no events calendar, no courses. If you need to take payments, Squarespace and Wix both sell commerce plans and this never will. Staying narrow is what stops setting it up from becoming a project in its own right.

It does not send your newsletter

It collects email addresses, confirms them properly, and hands you the list as a file that Buttondown or Mailchimp will import directly. It does not send anything. Sending mail well is a whole other job — deliverability, bounces, list hygiene — and half of it would leave you holding a list you cannot practically use.

It is alpha

Version 0.5. Your content is safe: it is in your database, you can export all of it at any moment, and an older version quarantines anything it does not understand rather than deleting it. What is not settled is the admin — screens move and get renamed between versions.

If that makes you uneasy, read this before you commit an afternoon.
