Verdict
Open Portfolio compared with
Adobe Portfolio
If you are already paying Adobe every month for other reasons, Portfolio is free with it and simpler than this. If Portfolio is the only reason you are paying, you are renting a website from a company that will take it down fourteen days after you stop.
Who
Stay with Adobe Portfolio if
- You already pay for Creative Cloud and use it for the work itself.
- You want to publish today and never think about hosting again.
- Your Behance profile is where your audience already is.
Look at this if
- Portfolio is the only part of the subscription you use.
- You want the site to survive you cancelling something.
- You want to export your content and there is currently no export at all.

From Adobe Portfolio’s own documentation
Every claim below links to the page it came from and says when it was read. Quoting a vendor’s own support article is the only form of comparison that cannot be argued with — and a claim with no date is worth nothing a year later.
Adobe Portfolio has no export at all, and if your Creative Cloud subscription lapses the site "will remain live for 14 days. After this 14-day grace period, your site will come offline."
The cheapest verified way to publish an Adobe Portfolio site is Behance Pro at US$11.49/month, which includes up to 5 sites, hosting and custom domains.
Adobe has published no deprecation notice for Portfolio. What exists is open threads on Adobe’s own community forum asking whether it has been abandoned.

| Export | None. | One JSON file with every word, setting and link, from a button in the admin. |
| Sites per account | Up to 5 on Behance Pro. | Unlimited — one deployment each. |
| Custom domain | Included. | Included. You buy the domain from anyone; we take no cut. |
| Is it actively developed | No deprecation notice. Open community threads asking whether it has been abandoned. | Alpha, one person, every commit public. Judge it from the repository. |

What Adobe Portfolio does better
Not a formality, and there is no “but” after any of them.
It is genuinely zero-setup
No deploy step, no host to choose, no domain decision on day one. You get a live page in about ten minutes and never think about infrastructure again. Ours needs a button press and a host, and that is two real decisions more.
Lightroom and Behance sync
Portfolio pulls albums straight from Lightroom and your Behance projects with no re-uploading. If your work already lives in Adobe, that is a workflow we do not have and are not going to build.
It is finished
Portfolio is a mature product that does what it does. This is version 0.5 and the admin still moves between releases.
